Our history

Before the horse, a story of cows

It all began on a dairy farm in Nort-sur-Erdre (44) in 1993. Alain Bioret, a farmer at the time, was faced with a recurring problem: his cows frequently slipped.

Aware of the impact of this problem on the well-being of his animals and the productivity of his farm, he set out to find an effective solution.

After studying several options, Alain Bioret discovered that recycled rubber strips seemed to be the ideal solution for improving cow safety and comfort.

This was the starting point for Bioret Agri! Aware that its solutions could be useful not only for cattle, but also for horses, the company decided to diversify.

Since then, Bioret Cheval has been the branch of the Bioret group dedicated to the world of horses, with the same fundamentals: innovation, animal welfare and support for breeders.

Our values

Animal welfare

Horses' hooves are designed for a variety of terrains, but they do best on soft, natural surfaces. Prolonged exposure to hard ground can lead to pain, bruising and, ultimately, joint and horn problems.

These difficulties are often more pronounced in young horses or those with more fragile hooves, as their foot structures are not yet fully developed to absorb shocks effectively. To prevent these problems, regular hoof maintenance and suitable stable floors are essential to the well-being of horses.

Performance

The key to improving horse performance lies in the quality of the horse's bedding and flooring. A comfortable bed promotes better recovery by reducing pressure points and the risk of injury.

A well-designed floor provides grip and shock absorption, enabling safer movement and reducing muscle fatigue.

Together, these elements optimize the well-being and performance of horses, both in training and in competition.
